Rathbones has hired three fund managers to form its first Asia ex-Japan and emerging markets team and plans to launch new funds for them to manage.

Lisa Lim joins from Prusik Investment Management as head of Asia ex-Japan equities and fund manager.

From GAM, Tim Love joins as head of global emerging market equities and fund manager, while his colleague Joaquim Nogueira has been appointed global emerging markets fund manager. All three will report to Tom Carroll, chief executive at Rathbones.

Carroll said: “For the first time in our history, we are introducing specialist fund management expertise to invest in Asia ex-Japan and global emerging market equities. It is our intention to launch new funds subject to regulatory approval, to complement our existing range.”

Before joining Rathbones, Lim was a partner and portfolio manager at Prusik and helped set up the firm's sustainable investing strategy. She previously served as a portfolio manager at Columbia Threadneedle for over a decade, leading several Asia equity portfolios for institutional investors.

Love has more than 40 years of investment experience, having spent over a decade at GAM, with prior tenures as a portfolio manager at BlackRock and HSBC Asset Management.

Nogueira has worked with Love for more than 20 years, with 12 years of experience as an investment manager at GAM and prior positions at CQS, Cazenove Capital Management and ING Barings
