Aubrey to close European funds as co-founder retires

Sharon Bentley-Hamlyn, co-founder of Aubrey Capital Management, retires this month.

Aubrey Capital Management is closing its €23m Aubrey European Conviction and €9m SVS Aubrey Europe Ex UK funds due to the retirement of lead manager Sharon Bentley-Hamlyn.

She co-founded Aubrey in 2006 after serving as a director at Walter Scott & Partners and has been managing the European Conviction strategy since 2008.

Bentley-Hamlyn also founded and led Aubrey’s sustainability committee and took a lead role in implementing the firm’s proprietary in-house environmental, social and governance (ESG) analysis.

Aubrey manages £806m across long-only growth equity funds, a macro-driven strategy and investment solutions for private clients.
