Some 35 years ago, Robin Parbrook joined the Asian equities desk at Schroders and started his career in an asset that, at the time, was viewed as something of a “backwater”.
In the years since, Parbrook – manager of the Schroder Asian Total Return Investment Company and similar open-ended strategies – has built a strong track record in Asian equities, which now benefit from robust economic growth, improving corporate governance, favourable demographics and attractive valuations compared with Western markets.
He was recently named FE fundinfo Alpha Manager of the Year in recognition of his strong performance across all key metrics over his successful career. In this video, Parbrook runs through some of the lessons he has learnt, including three key factors to successfully investing in Asian equities and how his investment trust is differentiated from its peers.
